Original red crab (or possibly chicken - this painting shows characteristics of both Tolliver's other chicken and crabs) painting by Moses Ernest Tolliver, the celebrated American folk artist. While this animal painting is representative of Mose T's work, this particular piece is unique in that it seems to straddle between his "chicken" and "crab" works. The painting is signed prominently with Tolliver's classic "MoseT" with the backwards S. Like most of Tolliver's paintings; this piece is done on salvaged wood.
The piece measures 12.375 inches wide and 15.75 inches tall. It is just over 1/4 an inch thick. It comes equipped with Mose T's classic pop tab hanger, securely fastened.
Condition as shown. Will be shipped carefully, wrapped and boxed.
